Dear Lucas and Chris from “Date My Ex,” Sorry About Anything I Said. You’re Fantastic.
So, a loyal reader just alerted me to the fact that Lucas James (super hottie) linked to this very blog a few weeks ago on his own blog. First of all, I’d like to say thank you, Lucas. I appreciate the shout-out. Right back ‘atcha. I’d also like to say a few additional things…
In my finale wrap-up of the show, anything negative I may have said about you was strictly for comedic purposes.
I think you seem like you’re actually a nice and normal person (especially in comparison to those Bravo puppets, Jo and Slade).
Chris from Chicago also seems like a nice and normal person, which is obviously why you two became friends.
I was rooting for both of you, but since you both ended up in the finale, I had to choose. I was kind of rooting for Chris. I’m sure you understand, Lucas.
Lucas, I apologize for saying your website wasn’t that interesting. I only said that because I couldn’t locate any recent pictures of you out on the town. It also took me a long time to load your portfolio page because my computer sucks. I’m really impatient with technology, and I shouldn’t have taken my distress out on your website.
I didn’t mean to imply that Lucas was of lesser intelligence than Chris. Chris just came across as a more serious person. Bravo (and Jo) set it up to look like Lucas was the fun, hottie choice and Chris (while also very hot) was the serious, smart choice. Bravo and myself obviously don’t know what you’re really like.
I also didn’t mean to imply that Lucas’s career was amateur or fledgling. I’ve rethought that comment. What I actually meant to say was that Jo’s career (while more prominent in the media) will go down in flames in the next sixteen months and Lucas will probably become more prominent / famous because he is phenomenally attractive. Furthermore, Lucas’s resume is actually more impressive than Jo’s because it appears to be based on actual work. Unsurprisingly, Jo’s career appears to be based on dumb luck. Sorry, Lucas. You’re too good for those people. Seriously.
Chris, I don’t really think you’re whiny and possessive. Bravo edited you to look that way. They wanted you to be flawed in some way. My guess is that you’re actually a confident man’s man. And entitled blondes love that. Sorry!
The bro-mance between Lucas and Chris was actually quite endearing. Bravo (and Slade) tried to imply that there was something unseemly about it.
Personally, I think it’s fantastic that two normal people were able to forge a friendship under such contrived and weird circumstances. Your friendship has been the only real success of the show. And women around the country thank you for it.
Jo and Slade both kind of suck. They belong together. Any normal human being didn’t stand a chance. Thank God you both came out relatively unscathed.
Thanks to you both for not wearing women’s accessories like Slade did. It made it much easier to hate Slade and adore both of you.
And please feel free to continue to be in the public eye. I’d love to see more of you both
